Hybrid System

Stud construction at service areas (around sockets, switches and pipes), insulated plasterboard elsewhere. The best of both — service access where needed, thinner build-up everywhere else.

Detailing Matters

What Thermal Bridging Details Are Important?

Internal wall insulation only performs when the junctions are detailed properly — heat escapes through any point where the insulation stops short.

Floor Junctions

Insulation must continue to floor level — stopping short creates a thermal bridge at the floor edge. We insulate floor edges with PIR or expanded polystyrene.

Ceiling Junctions

Insulation must continue to the ceiling — stopping short creates a thermal bridge at the ceiling edge. We insulate ceiling edges as standard.

Window & Door Reveals

Insulation must continue into the reveals (the sides of windows and doors), or they become thermal bridges. We insulate reveals with insulated plasterboard or PIR.

Skirting Boards

Skirting boards are removed and refitted after insulation — new skirting may be required if the original is damaged.
