Our Process

How Does Our PAS 2035 Retrofit Process Work for Homes in the UK?

We follow the PAS 2035 framework to ensure quality, compliance, and energy performance at every stage.

1

Assessment (C1)

We conduct an in-depth energy assessment of your property using thermal imaging and diagnostic tools. We identify heat loss areas, insulation gaps, ventilation issues, and improvement opportunities — and check your eligibility for ECO4, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, and other government grants.

Deliverable: Retrofit assessment report with prioritised recommendations and cost estimates.

2

Planning (C2)

We create a tailored retrofit plan with specific measures for increasing energy efficiency and compliance. We specify materials, design details, and risk assessments — and handle ECO4 eligibility checks, Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant applications, and all funding paperwork on your behalf.

Deliverable: Retrofit design specification and funding application.

3

Coordination (C3)

We manage all coordination activities including scheduling, contractor supervision, and compliance checks. You have one point of contact for your entire project. We ensure all installers are PAS 2030 certified and follow MCS standards.

Deliverable: Installation sign-off certificate and quality monitoring reports.

4

Compliance (C4)

We ensure all work meets PAS 2030, PAS 2035, EPC, and building regulations. We provide audit-ready documentation for ECO4, the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, and other funding schemes — and check how actual performance compares with predictions.

Deliverable: Post-retrofit compliance certificate and performance verification.

Retrofit Compliance FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Retrofit Compliance in the UK

What is PAS 2035 and why do I need it for my home?

PAS 2035 is the UK standard for managing energy efficiency retrofits in existing buildings. It is required for ECO4 funding and ensures your retrofit project is safe, effective, and compliant. Without PAS 2035 compliance you cannot access ECO4 or other PAS-gated government retrofit funding. Some schemes have their own requirements — for example, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme requires MCS-certified installation, which we deliver through certified partners.

How do I know if I qualify for ECO4 grants?

You may qualify if you own your home (or have landlord permission), have an EPC rating of D, E, F, or G, and receive certain benefits such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, or other qualifying benefits. If you do not receive benefits, you may still qualify through ECO4 Flex via your local authority. Contact us for a free eligibility check — we respond within 24 hours (Monday to Friday) and will tell you honestly whether you are likely to qualify.

Do you provide services across the UK?

Yes — we provide retrofit compliance and energy-efficiency services across the UK, including Manchester, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds and surrounding areas. Service availability may vary depending on the project and funding scheme.

What home energy upgrades do you offer?

We offer loft conversions, full house renovations, house extensions, room-in-roof conversions, solar panels, battery storage, air source heat pumps, and all types of insulation including loft, cavity wall, internal wall (IWI), external wall (EWI), underfloor, solid floor, and park home insulation.

Is Compliant Retrofits accredited for government schemes?

We follow RECC consumer protection standards and MCS installation standards proactively, and we work to the TrustMark framework, PAS 2035 and PAS 2030 on every project. Where a scheme requires a specific certification — such as MCS for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme — delivery is through certified partners, and ISO consultancy is delivered via accredited partners. See our accreditations page for the full picture.

Do you offer free consultations for homeowners?

Yes. We offer a free, no-obligation consultation to discuss your project, check grant eligibility, and provide a fixed-price quote. There is no cost and no obligation to proceed. We can visit your property or conduct an initial consultation remotely.

How much does a retrofit coordinator cost for a project?

As an indicative guide, retrofit coordination typically costs in the region of £500–£1,500 per project depending on complexity — we always confirm a fixed price before you commit. ECO4 may cover coordinator costs for eligible properties. A retrofit coordinator is required for PAS 2035 compliance and ECO4 funding.

What is the difference between PAS 2035 and PAS 2030?

PAS 2035 covers the whole retrofit process from assessment to completion — it is for retrofit coordinators, assessors, and designers. PAS 2030 covers installation only — it is for installers fitting insulation, heating, or renewables. Both are required for ECO4 funding.
